Privacy
YouMetry collects no data whatsoever.
The rule fits in one sentence. Everything the app processes stays on your device.
What we do not do
- No account, no sign-up.
- No data sent to Youlook: we have no collection server.
- No advertising, no tracker, no usage statistics in the app.
- The youmetry.ch website keeps anonymous visit statistics: page viewed, country (derived from the IP address, which is not stored), operating system, browser, time spent. No cookie, no lasting identifier; the browser’s “Do Not Track” setting is honoured.
- No selling or sharing of data — we hold none.
What stays on your device
- Your settings — chosen gauges, vehicle type, preferences — are stored locally and never leave the device.
- Your YouTube stream key is stored on your device and is only sent to YouTube’s servers, at the moment you start a live stream.
- OBD-II data (revs, speed, temperatures…) is read over Bluetooth from your vehicle and displayed locally, nothing more.
- The camera is used solely for the live stream you start yourself; the app neither records nor keeps any footage.
- Location (optional, mobile version) is used for the track and heading in your own recordings; if denied, the app works without it.
- Your videos and telemetry files (macOS version) are read and exported on your machine, full stop.
The only third party: YouTube
If you stream live, the video goes to YouTube’s servers and Google’s privacy policy applies to it. You start that stream yourself, and it ends when you stop it. Without streaming, the app talks to no server at all.
