Your outing on foot, with what your watch saw.

Mountain hike, trail run, Sunday jog: your Garmin watch records everything, YouMetry lays it over the video shot with a phone or a GoPro. Heart rate, pace, cadence, climb, outing summary, and the route replayed in 3D over the real terrain, with a figure that walks or runs at your pace.

What YouMetry reads

  • The FIT of your Garmin watch (Forerunner, Fenix, Venu, Instinct…) exported from Garmin Connect: heart rate, running cadence, altitude, temperature, steps.
  • Any GPX track: another watch brand, a phone, Strava, Komoot. With GPS alone you get speed, route, altitude and the summary; no heart rate.
  • Video from whatever camera you like: phone, GoPro, Insta360, DJI Osmo. A GoPro or an Insta360 also brings its own GPS.

What you get

  • Heart rate with zones (and an optional beep), pace and distance, running cadence, thermometer, gradient, watch panel.
  • The outing summary at the end of the video: distance, time, average and adjusted pace, climb, average heart rate, splits per kilometre and altitude profile.
  • The route replayed in 3D over terrain and aerial imagery, with place names, a figure that walks or runs at your cadence, and ×64 playback for long outings.
  • The weather of the outing (temperature, sky, wind) loaded on your consent, and an export as a finished video or a transparent layer for your edit.

How to do it

  1. Export the activity as FIT from Garmin Connect (or as GPX from your app), film with whatever you have.
  2. Open the video in YouMetry, import the file: the Other mode sets itself from the file’s sport.
  3. Align the data with the picture (the start is enough), pick your gauges, export.

Questions

Do I need a Garmin watch?

No: any GPX track is enough for speed, route, altitude and the summary. The Garmin adds heart rate, cadence and temperature.

My watch is not a Garmin: does it work?

Yes, if it exports a FIT or a GPX (Coros, Suunto, Polar, Apple Watch through an export app…). Heart rate is read if it is in the file.

Do I need an account or a connection?

No. No account, nothing is uploaded: your videos and data stay on your computer. Terrain and weather load on your consent.
