Your leg, with knots and wind on the picture.

Regatta, cruise, sport catamaran or board: the GPS track of your watch or plotter becomes, on the video, a speedometer in knots, a wind rose, a heading and a compass. YouMetry estimates the wind from the track or loads it from the day’s weather, and replays the leg in 3D over the water, with a sailboat heeling like yours.

What YouMetry reads

Any GPX track: watch, phone, plotter, navigation app. The file’s “sailing” sport picks the mode; otherwise you pick it.
The FIT of a watch, Garmin or other: speed, heading, heart rate, temperature.
Video from a GoPro, an Insta360, a DJI Osmo or a phone; a GoPro or an Insta360 brings its own GPS.

What you get

Speedometer in knots, heading and compass, track on a mini-map, distances, heart rate if a watch is there.
The wind: estimated from the track or loaded from the day’s weather, as a rose turning with the boat, head or tail wind, and the point of sail (close-hauled, beam reach, broad reach, running).
The leg replayed in 3D over the aerial imagery of the coast, with a heeling sailboat, a catamaran or a board on the track, and the wind arrow.
The weather of the outing on your consent, detected tacks as markers, and an export as a finished video or a transparent layer for your edit.

How to do it

Export the sail as GPX (or FIT) from your watch, plotter or app; film from on board with whatever you have.
Open the video in YouMetry, import the file, pick the Sailing mode if it did not set itself.
Align the data with the picture (one sharp tack is enough), pick your gauges, export.

Questions

Where does the displayed wind come from?

From the track itself, through tacks and points of sail (an estimate), or from the weather of the time and place, loaded on your consent. YouMetry does not read on-board instruments (NMEA) yet.

What about a windsurf board or a wing?

The same: the watch’s GPS track, speed in knots, the wind and a board in 3D on the water.

Do I need an account or a connection?

No. No account, nothing is uploaded: your videos and data stay on your computer. Imagery and weather load on your consent.
