Your runs, with speed and gradient on the picture.

Piste, off-piste, snowboard or cross-country: your watch or phone records the track, YouMetry lays speed, gradient, altitude and heart rate over the video, spots every run, and replays the day in 3D over the real terrain, with a skier or snowboarder following the track.

What YouMetry reads

  • The FIT of your watch (Garmin and any watch that exports FIT): speed, altitude, heart rate, temperature. The file’s “ski” sport picks the mode by itself.
  • Any GPX track: phone, ski app, Strava, Komoot. With GPS alone: speed, gradient, altitude and route.
  • Video from a GoPro, an Insta360, a DJI Osmo or a phone. A GoPro or an Insta360 also brings its GPS and gyroscope.

What you get

  • Speedometer, gradient dial, altitude and vertical drop, heart rate with zones, thermometer, track on a mini-map.
  • The detected runs placed as markers: you jump from one to the next in the edit, and every run becomes a YouTube chapter.
  • The day replayed in 3D over the snowy terrain and aerial imagery, with a skier, snowboarder or cross-country skier on the track, and the Aerial camera following the run.
  • The day’s summary at the end of the video, the weather and wind of the outing on your consent, and an export as a finished video or a transparent layer.

How to do it

  1. Export the day as FIT or GPX from your watch or app, film with whatever you have.
  2. Open the video in YouMetry, import the file: the Ski mode sets itself from the file’s sport, otherwise pick it.
  3. Align the data with the picture (the start of a run is enough), pick your gauges, export.

Questions

Is the watch’s GPS accurate enough on a piste?

For speed, gradient and route, yes. YouMetry smooths GPS jitter and lays the track on the terrain; a GoPro with its own GPS does even better.

What about the lifts?

They are part of the track, but YouMetry spots the runs and places them as markers: keep what matters and skip the rest in the edit, or play the day at ×64.

Do I need an account or a connection?

No. No account, nothing is uploaded: your videos and data stay on your computer. Terrain and weather load on your consent.
